When we decided that we wanted to build a vacation home on our lot in Whitehawk Ranch, it was an easy decision to select Williams Construction. We’d seen several of their homes and been extremely impressed with the quality of workmanship. We also liked the fact that WilliamsConstruction is a design / build company.

From the beginning of the project, as we worked with Matt to develop the floor plan and design that we wanted, he listened carefully and presented us with plans that reflected our ideas. Our meetings were productive and enjoyable. Vicki met with us as well and provided invaluable input both in the initial design phase and later when there were so many interior decisions to be made.

Building a home is a huge undertaking but we can honestly say that our experience with Matt, Ted, and Victoria was entirely positive and a pleasure. Many factors contributed to that. For us, integrity and trust is foremost. No doubt that’s true for anyone working with a contractor, but having had a very bad experience having a custom home built many years ago, that was really paramount.

A lot can be learned about a construction company from the subs they use. In the case of Williams Construction, all of the subs on the job were great- highly skilled, professional, responsive, and personable. It’s clear that there’s a mutual respect, the result of working together on innumerable projects.

Another factor that contributed to our positive experience was that Matt provided us with several names of reputable vendors we could check out for choosing appliances, cabinetry, flooring, lighting, etc. This was a huge help, particularly since we live several hours away from where our home was being constructed. Without exception, the vendors on Matt’s list were top-notch - wide inventory, knowledgeable, creative, competitive and helpful. Having these resources really helped to streamline the decision making process for us which contributed to the success of the project.

We were also impressed with the administrative side of Williams Construction and appreciated the fact that invoices are easy to read, provided on a regular schedule, and accompanied by complete supporting detail. The business practices they employ are as exemplary as the design and construction work they do.

In summary, we give an unqualified 5 star rating to Matt, Victoria and Ted Williams. Williams Construction designed and built us a home that surpassed our dreams. We’re thrilled with the result and look forward to many years enjoying it.

This was our first custom home build and we were starting it from 3000 miles away! From the very beginning of our building journey, Matt helped us get started and he was easy to work with during the whole project. We worked together with our architect’s drawings to get our house plan just the way we wanted it, mindful our budget. Building a custom house is a process full of choices and making countless decisions. Matt connected us with design professionals to consult in our decisions and we also benefited from Matt and Vicki’s suggestions and experience along the way.

The winter of 2017 was an extreme one in Plumas County, but the talented, hardworking crew kept on working despite the harsh weather. Matt and Ted kept us informed during the building process. “We’ve had the pleasure of having two homes built by Matt and Vicki Williams. Our first project with them was in 1992 when they built our 1,900sf cabin in Serene Lakes on Donner Summit. What a pleasure they made what sometimes can be a nightmare. Matt was working from our architect’s plans and made a number of great suggestions that allowed us to get the most out of our home. That was so much fun we asked Matt & Vicki to build our 2,900sf home in Reno in 1997.
